An early Blender study revisited as a physical artifact, a visual system, and a playable record.

A small geometric vocabulary must distinguish six piece families while remaining coherent across the complete set.

Among repeated vertical forms, the Knight carries the only asymmetric silhouette on the board.

A reduced set of planes preserves the sloped head, arched neck, projected chest, and weighted base that make the piece immediately legible.
05 / Material
Warm wood, soft ivory, and deep charcoal change how the same economical planes carry mass, edge, and contrast.

Created during an early 3D course, the preserved Blender images show the project as it was first presented in 2023.

The reconstructed set now holds a real position from Paul Morphy's Opera Game, played in Paris in 1858.
